Local businesses are choosing to put mental health on the map. Last year, there were many examples of companies that made a donation to the Douglas Institute.

Filosofia Games, a manufacturer of games for children, and Odan Laboratoires/Kamins Dermatologics Inc., a manufacturer of pharmaceutical and cosmetic products, both donated the proceeds of their annual charity fundraising sales to the Douglas. The Foundation is thankful to Filosofia owner Martin Tremblay and his wife Sophie Gravel, and Odan owner Ben Kaminsky for their gifts.

Brigitte Morel is a speaker and life coach from Montreal. She chose to donate the first proceeds from the sale of her self-help book to the renovation of the Depressive Disorders Clinic for youth. “The most important thing you can do in life,” says Ms. Morel, “is to make a difference for someone else.” By supporting the Douglas, local entrepreneurs are investing in healthy minds and making a difference for people living with mental illness and their families.
