Two world-renowned researchers from the Douglas, Judes Poirier, PhD, CQ, and Serge Gauthier, MD, FRCPC, have won a very prestigious award for their complete and, most importantly, easy-to-understand guide to Alzheimer's Disease.

The Hubert-Reeves Prize was created by the Association des communicateurs scientifiques du Québec (Québec Association of Scientific Communicators) in order to encourage scientists to write for the general public.

Drs. Poirier and Gauthier wrote this reference book both for those of us close to someone with Alzheimer's Disease and for the general public. They address all aspects of the illness including: risk factors and prevention methods, stages of progression, and treatment options. They do all of this and more in just 192 pages.

This book is presently only available in French but is in translation. It has already sold more than 10,000 copies.
