At least 70% of mental illnesses begin between the ages of 12 and 24. But far too many people remain undiagnosed – and untreated – until later in life.

Sadly, here in Quebec, young people often “fall between the cracks” as they move from child services to the adult system. One of the most pressing needs at that age is for adequate shelter.

The Douglas is going to address this need by creating a residence for these young people and provide help to reintegrate them into their families, school and the workforce.

We are grateful to CIBC, for kick-starting the financing for this project.
